1 killed, 3 on the run in Conroe jewelry store... - KPRC Houston
CONROE - Conroe police are on the scene of a fatal attempted robbery on Monday.
According to reports, four armed men entered Jeff's Jewelry at 4890 W. Davis Street around noon.
When the robbers realized the store clerks were armed, they began to retreat.
An exchange of gunfire left one of the robbers dead. The three other left the scene in a rental car, but ditched the vehicle a short distance away.
The search for the other three suspects is still underway.
Reports of the robbery led to the lockdown of a nearby Conroe school and a church, according to reports.
Peet Middle School was on lockdown because of police activity.
A witness told KPRC2 that a First United Methodist Church was also on lockdown.
