Dallas pilot admits smuggling $195K in undeclared cash, jewelry into US - Dallas News (blog)

Prosecutors say Warner was a member of Global Entry, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program designed to speed up entry into the U.S. for pre-approved travelers.

According to NJ.com, Warner flew from Mumbai, India, into the Newark Liberty International Airport on Jan. 10, but the Global Entry terminal wasn't functioning.

Warner instead went through customs, where officers found $195,736 in cash wrapped in newspaper inside his laptop bag. Officers also found 10 rings, four sets of earrings and various jewelry pieces that have yet to be valued.
