Robber punches man, steals briefcase full of jewelry in SF - SFGate - SFGate

A 30-year-old man was punched in the chest and had his briefcase full of jewelry stolen Thursday in San Francisco’s Inner Mission neighborhood, police said.

The robbery happened around 6:20 p.m. on the 100 block of Utah Street near the San Francisco Jewelry Center and the Highway 101 overpass.

The briefcase was filled with jewelry, although police officials would not give the value of the stolen items.

The victim had just parked his car and taken the briefcase from his trunk when the robber approached him and punched him in the chest, police said.

The attacker grabbed the briefcase and ran to a getaway car with three other men inside. The vehicle was last seen heading south toward 15th Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident, but did not need to go to a hospital, police said.

No arrests have been made.
