UPS supervisor accused of stealing jewelry worth thousands - WPEC

A UPS night supervisor is in hot water for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

Riviera Beach Police officers arrested 41-year-old Neil Snoep of Boynton Beach last week.

Investigators said Snoep stole several pieces of jewelry from the UPS warehouse he worked at in Riviera Beach.

The jewelry came from local stores and were on their way to be repaired.

The director of security cracked the case after Snoep fell for a counterfeit package, according to his arrest report.

The security director also accused Snoep of stealing a $2,700 wedding ring that was missing.

Court documents state Snoep revealed the location of the ring after being confronted by the director.

Riviera Beach Police investigators said they found evidence Snoep pawned at least 23 items of jewelry, including gold chain at a Delray Beach pawn shop.

An employee inside recognized Snoep when we showed him the mug shot.

UPS has since terminated Snoep, who had only been working for the company for less than a year.

CBS12 spoke with Snoep over the phone. He chose not to comment because it's an open case.
