Heard on the Street: Longtime Med City jewelry store to close - Post-Bulletin
A pair of longtime Rochester jewelers are closing their "traditional jewelry store" soon with private preview nights for select customers this week.
Hight & Randall Ltd. Personal Jeweler has announced plans to close its store in the 19th Street Financial Center at 2048 Superior Drive NW.
Flyers from the store state that although the store continues to thrive, the owners, Barbara Hight-Randall and her husband, Randy Randall, are closing the store "to enjoy a new journey." Their website states they will be doing "something new in 2018."
The store is hosting private preview nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week for select customers to shop ahead of the start of the liquidation sale.
Hight & Randall has been one of Rochester's leading jewelry stores since 1995. It started out in downtown and spent many years located at 10 Third St. SW.
In 2011, the pair designed a new, more elaborate location on Superior Drive.
"There's not another jewelry store like it in Rochester," Hight-Randall said in 2011. "It's Art Deco, but it is still modern and chic."
They moved and opened in the new store at the end of August 2011. The former downtown store on Historic Third Street was transformed into The Tap House bar and eatery in 2012.
