Six masked men take over, rob newly opened jewelry store - Stockton Record
STOCKTON — Six masked men, one of them armed with a handgun, took over a new north Stockton storefront jewelry store at midday Monday, holding the employees at gunpoint while the robbers smashed glass display cases to get at the jewelry, police reported.
No one was reported injured in the takeover robbery that occurred about 11:15 a.m. at Milestonz, 4663 Pacific Ave. and West March Lane.
The robbers were all wearing dark masks and hooded sweatshirts when they entered the store that is currently advertising its grand opening. The owner of the small chain that operates three other stores in the Sacramento area could not be reached for comment Monday.
As the lone armed robber watched the employees, his accomplices broke into the glass display cases and took an undisclosed amount of jewelry before they all left, fleeing the scene in what appeared to be a dark-colored vehicle. Police did not provide further details.
