SAUGERTIES - A Saugerties woman was charged with a felony after stolen jewelry turned up at local jewelry stores, according to police.
The Saugerties Police Department received a complaint of stolen jewelry from a home on Washington Avenue in the village, according to a news release. Police said the stolen jewelry was sold to two jewelry stores.
Rita White, 23, was arrested and charged on Saturday with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
White was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and remains at Ulster County Jail on $500 cash bail.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending.
