Highland Park woman's $150K earrings disappear, but other expensive jewelry remains - Dallas News (blog)
A Highland Park woman noticed over the weekend that her $150,000 earrings had gone missing from her home, and police are investigating the case as a theft.
Police were called to the home in the 4300 block of Bordeaux Avenue, near Armstrong Parkway, around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to a police report, the homeowner told an officer that his wife had placed the earrings, along with "other very expensive jewelry" into a dish atop a vanity in the master bathroom of their home on Aug. 10.
When the couple were getting ready to leave home Saturday evening, they discovered that the earrings — 5-carat diamond studs set in platinum — were gone, but the rest of the jewelry was still in the dish. They called police after searching fruitlessly for the earrings Saturday night and Sunday.
