Local jeweler hosts diamond buying and trade-up event - WIFR

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- If you have any jewelry or diamonds that you want to sell for some extra cash, now may be the time to do that.

Clodius and Company Jewelers have partnered with the International Institute of Diamond Valuation (IIDV) to help expand evaluating diamonds and other jewelry pieces for how much they are worth. Customers may bring in their diamonds or jewelry to get them appraised to either sell or keep no strings attached. According to the jeweler, if a customer's ring, earring, bracelet, or necklace has at least one natural diamond in it, the IIDV will buy the whole piece, no matter the size of the diamond.

Julia Clark, a Gemologist from the IIDV says, "The general public will come in with many items of jewelry that could have been sitting in their jewelry box, an old ring, or something a family member has handed down. When they come in, we will sit down one-on-one and evaluate every stone in the piece. We will then evaluate the metal and any other gemstones that may be in there as well. Once this is done, we will make an immediate offer for payment." If a customer wishes to not receive a payment, they may opt for 25% when applying the accepted offer towards a new in-store purchase.

This event takes place at the Clodius and Company Jewelers location in Rockford on South Mulford Road and goes through this Saturday, October 20, 2018. Walk-ins are welcome but customers can call to schedule an appointment or can drop off the jewelry pieces or diamonds prior to the event.
