Alleged jewelry thieves in custody after fender bender, police say - WCVB Boston
Two accused jewelry thieves are in custody after a minor fender bender in New Bedford.
Erin Pardi and Anthony Vieira are under arrest and facing charges after police say Pardi got into a minor car crash in New Bedford.
Officials said they found stolen jewelry, including necklaces and watches, from at least two local jewelry stores in Pardi’s vehicle.
Wareham police said the pair tried to force their way into Nasr Jewelers using a hatchet before giving up and hitting A-J Marks about a mile and a half down the road.
Police say Pardi was arrested on Thursday, and Vieira was arrested Sunday.
Vieira was arraigned Monday on a number of charges. Pardi was arraigned last week, but could face additional charges.
