Man gets 12 years for Half Moon Bay jewelry store robbery - The Mercury News

A New York man convicted of robbing a Half Moon Bay jewelry store for more than $100,000 worth of jewelry was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday.

Prosecutors said Jebediah E. Deangelis, 28, robbed the jewelry store Goldworks at gunpoint in February of 2016 along with a Florida man, Kevin Malone. Deangelis also used a stun gun on one of the store’s employees, authorities said.

The pair was arrested four days later in Indianapolis, where police found they had “hundreds of loose diamonds,” according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, as well as a gun that matched the one used in the robbery.

The jewelry the men stole was estimated to be worth $123,425, authorities said.

Deangelis pleaded no contest Tuesday to two counts of second-degree robbery, with enhancements for using a gun and the high value of what was taken, the district attorney’s office said. He will receive credit on his 12-year prison sentence for about three years’ worth of time he has already served.

The case against Malone has not been resolved.
