Thrift store searching for pendant owner who may have donated jewelry by mistake - WSPA.com
A local thrift store, is looking for the family, that donated a piece of jewelry possibly by mistake.
The pendant has a photo, of two girls, that could have a lot of sentimental value. And now, the Miracle Hill Ministry Thrift Store on West Butler Road in Mauldin hopes to track down the owner.
This week Tes Pearo, the Merchandise Manager found the pendant in a zip lock bag of donated jewelry that could have been given within the last month or so. The pendant has what appears to be a picture of two sisters from the late 1970's or early 80s. Pearo took the image straight to social media in search of the owner.
"I thought you know, I couldn’t imagine anybody giving this away intentionally because it’s a picture and pictures are irreplaceable," said Pearo.
With 8,,500 items of clothing alone coming in each week, you may wonder why Pearo would take the time and effort.
Pearo says a decade ago many of her family's photos were mistakingly donated to a thirft store.
"I would love to have a single piece, every picture of my family from back then, so I just thought you know what maybe somebody’s like 'I can’t believe that got given away, I gotta have it'," said Pearo.
This isn't even the first time the store has gone to such effort. 2 years ago a volunteer found $5,000 dollars in an envelope of some pants and tracked down the owners.
"It was just an amazing thing. We were so very happy that we were able to find the person and get it back to them,” said Pearo.
There are no doubt many great deals at the Miracle Hill thift store, but the real gem, may very well be, the people who work there.
"I’m really hoping that somebody recognizes it and it can get back to the right family,” said Pearo.
