Video: Burglar steals $25,000 in jewelry from Sarasota home - Sarasota Herald-Tribune
The thief, wearing a track suit and mask, climbed onto the Bird Key home's second-story balcony, police say.
SARASOTA — The Sarasota Police Department is trying to identify a burglar who stole more than $25,000 worth of jewelry from a Bird Key home.
According to police, the victims returned home to the 400 block of Meadow Lark Drive at about 9:45 p.m. March 9 to find that someone had been inside their home.
Cameras showed a burglar, about 6 feet tall and wearing a mask, track suit and gloves, walking around the home before scaling onto a second-floor balcony and gaining access through a bedroom. The burglar stole a large amount of jewelry.
