Longtime West Shore jewelry store to close - PennLive

A jewelry store that has been in the West Shore Farmer’s Market for almost two decades is closing.

Owner Susan Fotos is retiring and Higashi Fine Jewelry which is located on the top floor of the market at 900 Market St. in Lemoyne began a going out of business sale last month.

Fotos left her career as a counselor to open her business, Higashi Fine Jewelry 19 years ago, after falling in love with cultured pearls while living in Tokyo with her husband, the company said in a press release. The jeweler expanded three times since it opened and offers a mix of jewelry, gifts and accessories.

“The most humbling and gratifying aspect of the experience has been to be a part of helping customers mark some of their most treasured memories,” Fotos said in the press release.

The jewelry store will close when the liquidation sale is complete. The optical portion of the company, Higashi Eyewear will not be closing.
