Drew Brees and Wife Win Lawsuit Against Alleged Jewelry Scam - 12up

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees can now be stress free while preparing his team in training camp following the positive ending to his diamond dilemma.

Jurors sided with Brees on Friday, rewarding the quarterback and his wife over $6.1 million in damages in a lawsuit against La Jolla jeweler Vahid Moradi. Brees said that the jeweler claimed to be an expert in investment-grade diamonds and sold them $15 million worth of diamonds for well above their actual value.

Moradi was found liable for defrauding the couple after claiming his expertise in the field and proceeding to sell diamonds to the couple.

Brees and his wife later found out that they had paid about $6.7 million more than the diamonds were actually worth after taking the jewels to an independent appraiser.

Moradi upheld his argument with the claims that the independent appraiser had conned Brees, rather than him. However, the court didn't see it this way.

The diamond dilemma is done and the Saints quarterback is exactly where he needs to be, preparing for another successful season in New Orleans.
