Through her business, she also became involved in BIZ Kidz Academy, a Christian-based organization that engages young entrepreneurs in real-world business experiences, events and activities. At BIZ Kidz Academy, a four-week program with workshops every weekend, Makayla and other attendees learned the basics of marketing, financials and other pertinent business information. After the program, Makayla earned a $500 Frances Barber Educational Scholarship from BIZ Kidz Academy for writing an essay.
