United Airlines Employee Arrested, Accused Of Stealing Jewelry From Luggage - CBS Local
DENVER (CBS4)– A United Airlines employee has been arrested, accused of stealing nearly $130,000 worth of jewelry from a passenger’s luggage.
The victim, Christy Ferer, took a flight from Aspen to Denver earlier this month. The jewelry was located inside her cosmetics case.
When she arrived at Denver International Airport, her cosmetics case was missing.
Ferer is the chief executive of a company in New York City. She once worked with then Mayor Bloomberg on the rebuilding of the World Trade Center.
Police arrested Rafael Magana on charges of theft. Magana, 42, is a customer service agent for United Airlines.
Investigators say surveillance video from DIA shows Magana slipping the victim’s cosmetics case into a paper bag and then leaving with it.
