Edina police offer $3,000 reward after brazen jewelry store robbery ... - Minneapolis Star Tribune

Edina police are offering a $3,000 reward for the arrest of suspects in a brazen daytime jewelry store robbery in city’s posh 50th and France shopping district.

The smash-and-grab robbery occurred at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday when three men with hammers entered R.F. Moeller Jeweler at 5020 France Av. S., broke display cases and stole jewelry and valuables — the value of which was not released. Kaylin Eidsness, senior communications coordinator For the city of Edina, said the suspects did not communicate with or threaten the jewelry store staff with the hammers. No one was injured in the robbery.

“They just ran in, smashed and went,” she said. The suspects then drove a stolen blue minivan to nearby Bruce Avenue, where they attempted to light it on fire using gasoline but were unsuccessful before they abandoned the van and fled in a black four-door sedan, presumably driven by a getaway driver.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery or suspects is asked to call Edina police at (952) 826-1610. Identitites may remain confidential.
