(ABC 6 News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says they're looking for the owner of some jewelry they recovered.
Deputies found the jewelry, along with several coins, after receiving a suspicious person call near Reichels Circle NE in Stewartville. When deputies arrived they found Sean Jacobson of Rochester with a backpack. Jacobson told deputies that coins in the backpack were his and that he was staying at a hotel in Stewartville.
Jacobson was let go but deputies began canvassing the neighborhood asking residents if they were missing any coins. When they asked a resident on the 500 block of 7th Street NE, the home owners realized a coin jar of his had been stolen.
Deputies found Jacobson at the hotel in Stewartville. They say he admitted to stealing both the coins and some jewelry found in the hotel room from two different homes in the area. He does not remember the exact address of where he stole the jewelry from.
Jacobson is facing third degree burglary, possession of stolen property and theft charges.
