Sheriff: $2 million in stolen jewelry recovered from South Side store - WOAI
SAN ANTONIO - A month-long investigation led to the recovery of more than $2 million worth of jewelry, much of it believed to be stolen.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, they were first alerted to six victims in the Stone Oak area who used the same cleaning service.
The victims all reported that some of their jewelry had gone missing.
Deputies later went to a South Side jewelry store, called Joyeria Internacional, where they found some of the jewelry inside a safe. More than 11,000 items were recovered.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the case remains under investigation and believes more potential victims will come forward.
Sheriff Susan Pamerleau said no arrests had yet been made in the case and added the housekeeper involved with the first six homes is cooperating in the investigation.
