More customers accuse Lawrenceville jeweler of stealing from them - Atlanta Journal Constitution
At least 25 more customers have accused a Lawrenceville jeweler of stealing and crooked business dealings in the two days since police asked for potential victims to come forward, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Lawrenceville police said Timothy New pocketed proceeds after customers took their jewelry to the Gwinnett County shop owner to sell on their behalf.

The 55-year-old owner of The Bench Jewelers on the Lawrenceville Square is accused of shortchanging some customers after agreeing to consign their jewelry for a fee, police said. Others said New never refunded them after failing to complete work on custom jewelry.
The jeweler was arrested May 30 on nine counts of theft by conversion and one count of theft by taking. He was released June 13 after posting bond.
New’s shop has since closed and the state has revoked his business license, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities said more people could be charged in connection with the case.
