Posted: / Updated:PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 75-year-old Medford woman was ziptied by masked men who broke into her home and stole jewelry, including her wedding ring, Medford police said Thursday.
When the woman answered a knock on her door in the 1800 block of Filmore Drive around 8:40 a.m. Sunday, October 27, the men burst in, police said. One of them brandished a handgun during the assault, which investigators seemed to be a targeted robbery because they seemed to know certain things about the home.
After the robbery they left. When the woman realized they were gone, she ran — still ziptied — to a neighbor’s home and called police.
Officers arrived quickly and found neighborhood video surveillance that showed a arriving just before the robbery and leaving just after.
No suspects have been identified. Investigators said this is not a drug-related robbery.
The woman was treated for injuries to her face, arm and shoulder.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Medford police.
