Suspected jewelry store thieves crash van during Strongsville police chase - fox8.com
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio– Police are looking for two suspects following a jewelry store smash-and-grab that led to a police chase and crash.
According to Strongsville police, they received a call from an employee at Sheiban Jewelers on Pearl Road, just before 8 p.m. on Thursday that someone smashed a watch case and took several watches.
The man took off and got into a U-Haul van; two other people were inside.
Police spotted the suspected van and tried to stop it, but it took off from the officer.
During a police chase, the van crashed in the area of W. 41st and Lorain in Cleveland. The suspects all ran off. One of them was taken into custody.
Investigators are trying to identify the other two involved. The case remains under investigation.
