Three Masked Suspects Tie Up Manteca Woman, Steal Her Money ... - FOX40
Patricia Summers woke up on her couch early Sunday morning when a strange man in a mask put his hand over her mouth.
Now, San Joaquin County Sheriffs are searching for the two men and one woman who, officials say, tied up the Manteca woman inside her home and robbed her, all while her husband and grandson slept in the same house.
"Just a nightmare, I wouldn't wish it on anybody," said Summers, who said she is still shaken up and now unable to sleep in her home in Manteca. "I just keep seeing them standing over me."
Summers says the masked suspects threatened with her own kitchen knives demanding she give them money.
"It's just so terrifying, because you don't know if you're going to live or die," Summers said. "Because they had those knives in their hands, I didn't know what they were going to do."
Summers' elderly husband and grandson were in the house, but neither could hear her screams.
"My grandson had his fan on in his room, so he didn't hear me," Summers said.
Summers quickly gave the suspects her purse and what jewelry she could. The intruders then tied her up and left.
"I can't understand why they would come in and tie her up, that's crazy," neighbor Glenn Nelson said.
Now Summers' entire neighborhood is on edge.
"We'll now be watching and keeping everything locked up tight, that's for sure," said Jennifer Lopez, who lives down the street.
Nelson said he knew something was wrong when he saw the police cars early Sunday morning. He's glad to hear his neighbors are okay, but Nelson is not taking any chances with his family.
"I do have firearms, but yeah, we'll be locking our doors," Nelson told FOX40.
Summers is glad her story will help prepare others.
"They'll do it again, this won't be the last time," Summers said.
