A Greenville man faces multiple charges after being arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry and selling to it two local shops, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.

William Glenn Cahoon Jr., 28, of 130 Holloman St. was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense and a misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer.

The sheriff’s office received a report on Oct. 31 of breaking and entering on Wesley Lane, according to the news release. The victim reported jewelry valued at about $8,000 was stolen.

Investigating deputies discovered several pieces of jewelry described by the victim were sold at Trade It at 105 S.W. Greenville Blvd. and Gold and Silver Trader at 425 S.E. Greenville Blvd.

After he was arrested, deputies discovered that Cahoon had three outstanding warrants for probation violations out of Durham County.

Several pieces of the stolen jewlery were recovered.
