Jewelry thieves burrowed through sushi restaurant wall in daring gem heist - New York Post

A group of burglars pulled off a daring predawn jewelry heist in Manhattan — cutting a hole in the wall of an adjacent restaurant to get at the gems, police sources said.

The bandits stole the precious inventory from B&H Jewelry Store on Chambers Street near Broadway in Tribeca at around 5 a.m. Thursday, sources said.

The crew first busted into Hamachi Sushi on Reade Street – which is directly behind the jewelry store – and made their way inside by sawing a passageway through the rear wall, police sources said.

The crooks rounded up an unknown amount of jewelry and fled.

No arrests have been made and police are still investigating.
