Police: Man stole $6300 in jewelry from Indianapolis store, punched employee in face - Fox 59

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis police are looking for a man accused of attacking an employee at a jewelry store over the summer and stealing several thousand dollars in merchandise.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan police, the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on June 17, 2016, at Gold N Gifts, 10202 E. Washington St., in the Washington Square Mall.

An employee said a man was trying on 14-carat diamond earrings, a gold necklace and a diamond charm. When the employee asked the man for ID, the suspect turned around and punched the worker in the face.

He then left the mall without paying for the jewelry, which is valued at nearly $6,300. The man was driving a gray Ford Taurus, police said. Police released surveillance images of the suspect and are hoping someone can identify him. He’s wanted for battery and theft.
