Riddle's opening second Billings jewelry store at Shiloh Crossing - Billings Gazette
Riddle’s Jewelry is opening Saturday a second Billings location at Shiloh Crossing on the West End, company officials announced Wednesday.
The Rapid City, S.D.-based jeweler is moving into a 2,700-square-foot space inside the new Turley Dental building behind Taco Bell. The address is 1002 Shiloh Crossing Blvd.
“To us, this is like the new downtown type area, as far as traffic patterns, people hanging out, going to a movie, that type of thing,” store manager Matt Bonner said.
Riddle’s already operates a store inside Rimrock Mall, which will remain open.
Turley is taking about three-fifths of the 6,400-square-foot building, which cost about $517,000, and the remainder is for the jewelry store.
Bonner said Riddle’s has been eyeing Shiloh Crossing for about three years, and the Turley building emerged as a good partner. The company will hire six new employees to fully staff both stores.
The new location is only 3.5 miles from Rimrock Mall. Bonner said he doesn’t think the new store will cannibalize from the current one.
“It seems like there are a lot of people that shop here, or at the mall. Our expectation is that we can pick up new customers,” he said.
Bonner added that Riddle’s is committed to staying at the mall and recently completed a major store remodel at center court.
The new store will be slightly different, selling higher-end pieces, more custom jewelry and other services, Bonner said. The environment will be more relaxed, with a coffee station and lounge area, he added.
Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Riddle’s will be the second jewelry store to open at Shiloh Crossing. In 2010, owner Scott Wickam built a $2.8 million new Goldsmith Gallery Jewelers store at 903 Shiloh Crossing Blvd.
The new store will be Riddle’s 64th in nine states: Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma.
