Middletown couple open apparel, jewelry shop at Liberty Center - Hamilton Journal News

A new store at Liberty Center offers unique apparel for women of all ages.

That’s Invintage offers one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry along with accessories, home decor, footwear and clothing choices that “evoke a sense of old world charm mixed with a hint of romantic innocence,” according to owner Lisa Fugate, of Middletown.

Fugate said she designed several pieces of jewelry and accessories for the new 2,500 square-foot storefront, which opened Nov. 25 at 7100 Foundry Road inside the Foundry, Liberty Center’s enclosed mall building.

“My newest design is Charming Creations, a necklace design that allows you to pick your design plate and accessorize with interchangeable charms,” she said.

Owned and operated by Fugate and her husband, Keith, That’s Invintage emerged as a storefront out of necessity.

“After many trunk shows and traveling for over two-and-a-half year at several festivals and special events we decided to open a more accessible shopping location for our customers,” Lisa Fugate said. “What started out as a tinker project in my kitchen has evolved into what I will call my first step in leaving a little bit of me in this great big world.”

The Fugates said that as residents of Butler County, they wanted to be part of their community and its economic growth, and that Liberty Center seemed “like the perfect match.”

“Like That’s Invintage, Liberty Center is family-oriented and thinks outside the box compared to other retail facilities,” Lisa Fugate said. “The most exciting part of opening at Liberty Center is seeing all that creating, dreaming, persevering and believing become something more beautiful than I could ever imagined.”

“It’s been a great new beginning,” she said.

Fugate said she donates a portion of That’s Invintage’s proceeds to local missionary Sue Thurston with Hamilton-based Arise and Thresh International Ministries.

“Sue’s been a member of my Church at Calvary Christian Center and friends of our family since I can remember, and her faith has been demonstrated through her walk mentoring and giving of her time through prayer and teaching,” Fugate said. “She has the same vision to help and bring change in people’s lives and it gives me great pleasure to give back to someone who has given so much.”
