Jewelry stolen from burglarized home: Shaker Heights Police Blotter - cleveland.com
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio
Burglary: South Woodland Road
At 9 a.m. Aug. 3, police were called to a home on a report of a burglary. It was found that someone had removed a screen from a window, entered the home and stolen a jewelry box. The box contained jewelry valued at more than $2,000. No one was home at the time of the break-in.
Driving under suspension: Lee Road
At 9:35 p.m. Aug. 2, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a car for having a loud muffler and discovered that the driver, a Bedford Heights man, 31, had a suspended license. The driver was cited for driving under suspension and for possessing marijuana.
Warrant arrest: Farnsleigh Road
At 9:30 a.m. Aug. 4, police were called to Farnsleigh Road on a report of a suspicious, occupied vehicle that had been parked in the street for a considerable length of time. A man and a woman were in the car. The man, 27, of Garfield Heights, was found to be the subject of a Shaker Heights Municipal Court warrant. The man was arrested on the warrant and the woman was released.
Theft: Chagrin Boulevard
At 10:05 a.m. Aug. 4, officers responded to the 7-Eleven store, 20420 Chagrin Blvd., on a report of a theft. A Shaker Heights man, 43, was arrested for stealing a drink worth less than $2.
Assault: Van Aken Boulevard
At 11:10 p.m. Aug. 5, a man, 29, reported that a former co-worker that he had not seen in some time had walked up to his van and punched him in the face. The suspect was no longer at the scene when police arrived. Police are investigating.
OVI: Lee Road
At 12:40 a.m. Aug. 5, an officer stopped a car that had been seen weaving and that did not have its headlights activated. The driver, a Cleveland man, 36, went on to fail field sobriety tests. The man refused to take a breath test. Police charged the man with OVI and cited him for the traffic infractions.
Theft: Aldersyde Drive
At 7:45 p.m. Aug. 5, a boy, 14, reported that his mountain bike had been stolen from the grounds of Shaker Heights High School, 15911 Aldersyde Drive. The boy told police that the bike, valued at more than $300, was locked at the time of the theft.
Warrant arrest: Coventry Road
At 11:05 p.m. Aug. 6, an officer stopped a car that was not being driven consistently within marked lanes. It was subsequently learned that the driver, a Cleveland woman, 27, was wanted on a Richmond Heights police warrant. The woman was arrested on the warrant and cited for a marked-lanes violation.
Theft from auto: Huntington Road
At 3 p.m. Aug. 6, it was reported that, during the previous evening, someone had entered a 54-year-old woman’s parked car and stolen a pair of prescription sunglasses. The car was unlocked at the time of the theft.
