Rotterdam police: Home health aide steals jewelry - Times Union - Albany Times Union

ROTTERDAM -- A home health aide allegedly stole jewelry from a Third Street residence where she worked and pawned the valuables the same day, town police said.

Officers arrested Jaime R. Kahl of Albany on Tuesday.

Kahl, 34, is charged with felony grand larceny, felony criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor criminal mischief.

The jewelry was reported stolen Dec. 13 and investigators later found several pieces at a local pawn shop. The store's records listed Kahl as the seller, town police said in a news release.

Kahl was arraigned in town court by Judge James Bradshaw Jr. and taken to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Rotterdam detectives at (518) 355-7397.
