Thousands of dollars worth of jewelry gone after break in | WEAR - WEAR
Thieves broke in and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry Sunday night in Crestview.
Rachel Russell has spent more than 20 years working in the jewelry business with her father.
The morning, instead of making sales, employees at the Lewis Diamond Gallery had to pick glass out of the display cases.
"We were in business for 20 years and have never experienced anything like this," Russell said.
Thieves broke into her shop, cleared out cases full of wedding bands, watches and Christmas jewelry. Now the employees take inventory, assessing just what was taken, hoping to keep Christmas on track for their customers.
"We are going to do everything we can to make sure that everyone is still able to get a Christmas present they want this year," Russell said.
Crestview Police continue to comb over security video as we speak trying to gather a list of suspects.
There is no official estimate on how much jewelry was stolen.
The store will still be open despite the crime.
