SARATOGA SPRINGS — A worker hired as part of a group painting a city home is accused of swiping jewelry worth more than $13,000, city police said Friday.
Police said the painter -- whose name is James M. Brush -- is charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, police said. The arrest stemmed from a Nov. 11 call from an Echo Ridge Drive resident who said jewelry was missing. Brush, 42, of Saratoga Springs was arrested Thursday.
A good portion of the jewelry was recovered. After arraignment, he was sent to Saratoga County jail on $2,000 bail.
