Officially Licensed 'Black Panther' Jewelry Line Announced - Heroic Hollywood (blog)

Black Panther Nakia OkoyeAs evident in the colorful posters, promotional photos and seen in motion in the film’s trailers, Marvel’s upcoming film Black Panther will have its characters showcasing some vibrant and stunning costumes and jewelry. It is only fitting for a kingdom such as Wakanda to have a regal fashion sense that is only fitting for not only one of Marvel’s most thriving and prominent fictional principalities but also for a king such as T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).

Geeks of Color is reporting that Douriean Fletcher, a Los Angeles-based jewelry designer who served as the special costume jewelry designer for Black Panther will be releasing an officially licensed line of jewelry for the film. Fletcher was influenced by her travels around both South Africa and Tanzania where she sought out to learn about the women from those cultures and how their jewelry tell their story. The end result is wearable pieces of art that instill the wearer with a sense of power and pride just like T’Challa and his allies. The designer also mentions that she designed the costume worn by Okoye (Danai Gurira) in the recent trailer for Avengers: Infinity War which you can see below.

The bracelets, necklaces and earrings that Fletcher designed definitely feel right at home with the overall aesthetic and culture of Wakanda not only conveyed the upcoming film but also from the pages of the Black Panther comics. If jewelry doesn’t suit you then don’t worry, Fletcher has also designed a snapback cap that features a beautifully engraved Black Panther mask. You can check out the cap and jewelry below.

Ross, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, John Kani as T’Chaka, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Kilmonger, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, and Winston Duke as M’Baku (Man-Ape). In addition, Atandwa Kani has been cast in an unspecified role.

Since Avengers: Infinity War did not change its release date, promotions for it stayed on track. So when the trailer for Infinity War finally dropped, there was a whole lot of Black Panther in it.
