Auburn Hills man, 62, charged with stealing jewelry from Bloomfield Township store - The Oakland Press
A 62-year old Auburn Hills man is charged with two counts of first-degree retail fraud for allegedly stealing jewelry twice from a Bloomfield Township stole.
Investigators believe Stephen Homburger distracted a clerk at Fredrick Jewelers on W. Long Lake Rd. during the afternoon of Jan. 23 and walked away with a gold chain valued at $2,000. He’s also suspected of stealing another chain at that store on an earlier date.
Homburger was located by a surveillance unit Jan. 31 after the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued the two-count warrant, police said.
He was arraigned in Bloomfield Township’s 48th District Court on Feb. 1 and assigned a bond of $100,000. He’s due back in court Feb. 12.
