PEORIA — Cufflinks and a donation box were taken in a jewelry store burglary Thursday night, according to a police report.
Peoria police reported to Bremer Jewelry after an intrusion alarm was set off at about 11 p.m. and found a hammer and a lot of broken glass, according to the report. Security footage showed a man use the hammer to smash the glass out of the rear door at 4707 N. University St.
Once inside, he took a small box from the counter, which an employee identified as a donation box for a charity. The employee told police it contained “a couple hundred dollars.”
Three pairs of cufflinks, worth $240 in total, were also taken. One of the pairs reads “Best Dad,” according to the report.
