Glass jewelry workshop planned
WILMOT — A fused-glass jewelry workshop will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wilmot High School, 11112 308th Ave.
Students will create between four and eight pieces of jewelry.
The cost is $20, with an additional $20 for supplies.

Writers’ group will meet at Carthage
KENOSHA — The Kenosha Writers’ Guild monthly open meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 196 of the Straz Building at Carthage College, 2001 Alford Park Drive.
All writers are welcome to share a short selection of their writing and/or listen to others read from their work. All levels and genres are welcome. If possible, participants should bring several copies of what they wish to read.
Catch a movie Thursday at library
KENOSHA — “Thursday Afternoon Movie @ Southwest” begins at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave.
Every other Thursday, the library shows a newly released feature film on DVD.
Titles are set as DVD release dates are announced, with an emphasis on well-reviewed movies.

Kids invited to take egg challenge
KENOSHA — The Egg Drop Challenge will take place 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave.
Children in grades K-5 are invited to make a contraption that will protect an egg from cracking or breaking from a high fall.
Materials will be provided along with design ideas.
‘Movies After Dark’ event at library
KENOSHA — “Movies After Dark” takes place 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. Friday at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave.
The adult group meets monthly to watch box office hits and cult classics. Some films have R ratings. Guests need to arrive before 6 p.m., when the library doors will lock.

Grow and glow garden fun at library
“Growing, Glowing Garden Fun” will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Northside Library, 1500 27th Ave.
Families are invited to hear a story and then make some things that will grow and glow in a garden.
