Kay Jewelers Opens Friday in Evergreen Plaza - Patch.com
EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Kay Jewelers, which has been helping people express their love through fine jewelry for over 100 years, will open a new store at the rebooted Evergreen Plaza this Friday, Oct. 12. The new location will be throwing open its doors at 10 a.m. at 9656 S. Western Ave. in Evergreen Park -- just in time for the upcoming holiday engagement ring season.
In celebration of the store's opening, customers can bring their jewelry to the new Evergreen Park location for free cleaning all day Friday. Kay Jewelers will be offering discounts on repairs. Sales are being planned with discounts starting at 10 percent off and more on select jewelry. The store will also be raffling off gift cards.
Evergreen Plaza shoppers can count is seeing some friendly hometown faces. Evergreen Park resident Comfort O'Neal has been employed for ten years at Kay Jewelers in the Chicago Ridge Mall. O'Neal will serve as the new location's assistant manager.
"A lot of customers from the neighborhood travel to Chicago Ridge," O'Neal said. "When I found out they were opening a store in my neighborhood I immediately applied and got the job. This is perfect for me."
Kay is said to be the largest jeweler in the United States with over 1,100 locations in shopping malls and off-mall shopping centers across the country. Kay Jewelers is owned by diamond retailer Signet Jewelers Limited, which also owns Zales, Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, Piercing Pagoda and other regional brands.
