Smash and grab heist at James Avery jewelry store takes less than five minutes, police say - Chron

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, the thieves' wives must be happy.

Law enforcement, however, is not.

Several suspects are sought after a smash-and-grab at an eastside James Avery early Thursday morning.

A group of suspects rammed a pickup truck into the front of the jewelry store in the 14200 block of East Beltway 8 around 2:30 a.m.

Once inside, they spent fewer than five minutes stealing three cases worth of rings, charms and other goodies the San Antonio-based jeweler typically sells.
