Mover Stole Jewelry From Customer, South Windsor Police Say - Hartford Courant
A mover who police said stole jewelry from a customer was arrested on a theft charge, police said Wednesday.
Austin Martinez, 21, of Irving Street in Manchester, was arrested Monday and charged with third-degree larceny, they said. He posted $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Manchester on Oct. 6.
According to police, a resident told police in August that she had learned she was missing jewelry after she hired a moving company. Officers interviewed one of the movers, Martinez, and he admitted taking some jewelry and selling it on the street.
Police said they obtained a warrant for his arrest and served it Monday.
