The Surprising Reason Keira Knightley Hasn't Owned Much Jewelry Since She Was 22 - People Magazine
One might think that an A-list actress who also happens to front a fine jewelry campaign would own more jewels than she could count. But that’s not the case for Keira Knightley.
“When I was 22 or 23, my house got burgled, so all of my jewelry got taken!” the 31-year-old star revealed to PeopleStyle at the launch of Chanel’s fine jewelry boutique at Bergdorf Goodman last night.
“It was so awful because it was all of my 21st birthday presents that [got stolen]. I never replaced any of it, really,” Knightley said. “I actually have very little jewelry. It’s so sad.”

She says that her wedding ring is of great sentimental value to her, and she hopes to add some more pieces to pass down to daughter Edie — “Maybe I’ll buy lots of these!” she said of the line’s bejeweled rings.
The star, who’s worked with Chanel for almost 10 years as the face of its Mademoiselle fragrance and Rouge Coco lipsticks, recently added the brand’s new fine jewelry campaign to her resumé. And the rings she models hold a special place in her heart — after all, a ring was the first piece of Chanel jewelry she received.
“I got it the second year I worked for them. It’s one of those small, black Camélia rings,” the actress said. “It’s very lovely.”
We’re pretty sure now she won’t have any trouble getting her hands on more pieces to fill her jewelry box thanks to this gig.
