Winchester police log: Packages and jewelry stolen in pre-holiday incidents - Wicked Local Winchester

The following are excerpts from the Winchester police log, as made available by the Winchester police department. The log is public and available for review. All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Dec. 19

7:10 a.m.: A James Street resident reported hearing yelling, followed by two vehicles taking off.

11:26 a.m.: A stop sign was reported knocked down at Wildwood and Church streets.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

12:07 p.m.: A Drexel Avenue resident reported theft of a pocketbook from a vehicle.

1:36 p.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious man at Church and Cambridge streets.

2:35 p.m.: A Coolidge Road resident reported receiving suspicious emails.

2:58 p.m.: A Cambridge Street resident reported theft of jewelry.

3:56 p.m.: A Main Street resident reported theft of a FedEx package.

6:22 p.m.: Police were called to the scene of a vehicle crash on Laraway Road where the involved parties were arguing.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

8:16 a.m.: An Edward Drive resident reported fraud via credit card.

9:16 a.m.: Police responded to a Main Street business after someone reported threats to commit a crime via the internet.

11:39 a.m.: A Wildwood Street resident reported internet fraud.

12:24 p.m.: Stop and Shop reported a shoplifter.

3:01 p.m.: A vehicle accident with property damage occurred on Main Street.

5:02 p.m.: A package was reported stolen from Main Street.

6:04 p.m.: A vehicle accident involving a cruiser was reported on Cambridge Street.

10:57 p.m.: A Royalston Avenue resident reported someone rang the doorbell, but no one was there.

Thursday, Dec. 22

3:11 p.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on Cabot Street.

3:42 p.m.: Police were informed that three or four youths were playing on Wedge Pond.

4:25 p.m.: Police received a report of black ice at Berkshire Drive and Nassau Drive.

4:44 p.m.: A vehicle struck a town sign and utility pole at Loring Avenue and Cross Street.

4:47 p.m.: Police received a report of youths on the ice at Elliot Park.

5:19 p.m.: Police responded to a suspicious incident on Mayflower Road.

5:28 p.m.: An injured duck was reported on Swanton Street.

8:27 p.m.: A suspicious man was reported on Main Street.

11:32 p.m.: Emergency personnel assisted two people stuck in an elevator on Vine Street.

Friday, Dec. 23

2:15 p.m.: Police received a report of two suspicious males in  Squire Road residence.

4:24 p.m.: An Elmwood Avenue resident reported theft of jewelry.

9 p.m.: A fire was reported outside Vinson Owen Elementary School on Johnson Road.

Saturday, Dec. 24

1:24 a.m.: A Church Street resident reported hearing noises like firecrackers outside.

1:28 a.m.: A Hastings Road resident reported hearing multiple teens behind the residence.

6:14 a.m.: An injured deer was reported on the side of South Border Road.

7:14 a.m.: An erratic driver was reported on the wrong side of the road at Church and Cambridge streets.

4:21 p.m.: Police received a complaint regarding cars on sidewalks outside St. Eulalia’s Parish on Ridge Street.

8:11 p.m.: An attempted break in to a Pine Street residence was reported.

Sunday, Dec. 25

12:43 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a dog possibly biting a 10-year-old on Sargent Road.

4:15 p.m.: Police responded to Winchester Hospital for a drug offense.

5:57 p.m.: Fireworks were reported at Vinson Own school.

9:07 p.m.: Police received a report of fireworks on Brantwood Road.
