Agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Marshal Service and several local agencies are collecting evidence at a storefront.

The store, Tri-State Jewelers, is currently not open for business.

Officials at the scene said the presence of investigators at the jewelry store is tied to "court-ordered and authorized search, seizure and arrest warrants."

Tim Reagan, the resident agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's office in Cincinnati, said the investigation is tied to a large-scale fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine investigation.

"For us, this is going to be one of the larger cases we've done out of the Cincinnati office," Reagan said Thursday.

He would not divulge specifics of the investigation, but said the details are quite alarming.

"It took us a while to put it all together, but at the end of the day, the allegations in the indictment – which will be released at some point next week – will shock a lot of people," he said.

As of noon Thursday, it is still a very active scene, but federal investigators have been tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the search.
