Co-owner Jane McElvaine said on Facebook that the men stole 11 Rolex watches. Police said they also took handfuls of other merchandise in the display cases. Police said officers recovered some stolen merchandise and the hammers that the robbers dropped as they fled.
The men fled into the residential neighborhood just east of Brentwood Shopping Center. A store clerk chased them but eventually lost sight of them. He said the men jumped fences in yards on Stewart Avenue east of the shopping center.
Within half an hour, police arrested one suspect and were looking for two more. They were using search dogs and set up a perimeter to try to keep the robbers from escaping.
The thieves may have fled in a gray Dodge Neon.
