Burglars caught on Utah home surveillance video stealing couple's plasma TV, jewelry - Daily Mail
A surveillance video has captured the horrifying moment two burglars broke into a Utah family's home in the middle of the day and stole their computers, jewelry and plasma television.
Micaela Choo said she felt especially violated after seeing the two men's faces on the video's clear HD footage as they helped themselves to her belongings.
The video shows the two men, who are still at large, ransacking the place in just three minutes after they kicked the door down and walked into the home in Murray.
A surveillance video captured the horrifying moment two burglars broke into a family's home in Murray, Utah in the middle of the day and stole thousands of dollars worth of belongings
Micaela Choo said she felt especially violated after she watched the video and saw the two men help themselves to her family's jewelry, electronics and plasma television
They immediately split up to rob different floors in the home, stashing the items in the family's own hamper before grabbing the plasma TV and heading out the door.
Choo said the men, who were 'pretty young', made off with thousands of dollars worth of tablet computers, watches and jewelry around 12.45pm on Saturday.
They also took her husband's British passport and and a jewelry box that belonged to their young daughter, Choo told the Desert News.
'It's definitely a sense of violation and it doesn't make your family feel safe, especially once you see their faces,' she said.
'They just kind of look around and then help themselves.'
Choo said the burglars were still in the house when her husband, Martin Perham, received an alert on his phone from a security camera set up in the family's kitchen.
But Perham was on a call at the time, and was so close to home he didn't think he needed to hang up and look at the notification, Choo added.
But Choo is grateful that her husband ended up missing the burglars by 10 minutes.

Choo said the men also took a British passport belonging to her husband Martin Perham (pictured together) as well as their young daughter's jewelry box
'You just never know if they're high, if they're armed, if they have a knife, what's going to happen,' she said.
'The police said they probably would have just fled, but if you confront them, they may try to fight back.'
Choo and Perham don't expect they will ever get their stolen belongings back, but are hoping the video will help catch the thieves.
'It is HD quality,' Choo said of the video, which has since been turned over to the Murray Police Department.
'If police show it to the various jurisdictions, that would be great. Maybe these thieves have been known to police before.'
'It's probably not their first rodeo.'
